Silver Surfer

The Silver Surfer first appeared in the mid-1960's in the Fantastic Four comic in a 2-part story that presented his origin. The premise for this two-parter was taken from the classic three issue saga, The Coming Of Galactus from Fantastic Four #48-50. Its unimaginable to me, that the creators of this story could so thoroughly trash such a beloved comic epic. The enigmatic Watcher warns the Fantastic Four of the impending arrival of the herald of Galactus, the Silver Surfer.
The Surfer travels on a "surfboard" which responds to his mental commands and is as indestructible as he is. He possesses the Power Cosmic which he can use to generate powerful force blasts or to rearrange molecules. Known superhuman powers: The Silver Surfer can endow himself with Class 100 strength, enabling him to lift over 100 tons.
His punishment was confinement to earth - but he escaped and currently soars the starways as a universal protector. After visiting Earth, the Surfer finally betrayed Galactus and refused to supply his world-devouring appetite. As a galaxy cruising protector endowned with superhuman strength, he is able to control and direct cosmic energies, with enough force to destroy a city. History: Norrin Radd - former hearald of the mega-tyrant Galactus, offer his life to protect his native planet, placing him in the service of Galactus as a silver suited sentinal. Real name: Norrin Radd Occupation: Adventurer Identity: Public Legal status: Citizen of Zenn-La with no criminal record.
However, Jakar was confronted and overpowered by Jack of Hearts and the Silver Surfer, who destroyed the globe. Jakar continued to manipulate Ganymede and Persephone on a wild goose chase after Tyrant, which was actually meant to enable Jakar to fully access the power of the Globe. When the Silver Surfer arrived on the scene, Galactus directed him to stop Morg. Galactus feared the energies being unleashed by the weapon, yet proved unable to dismantle the weapon in his weakened state.
