The Avengers

The Avengers CGC graded Marvels most elite characters will be at the center of The Heroic Age, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and more. The Heroic Age ushers in a dramatic new vision of the Marvel Universe. This follows aproximately seven years of increasingly dark stories at the publisher, culminating in the last year of major super-villain Norman Osborn essentially controlling the vast majority of super-powered characters in the Marvel Universe. The press release mentions the initiative will see other new teams launch, new members joining existing teams, and all-new characters involved in the tonal shift for the line. The image also features Clint Barton in his old Hawkeye costume. The promotional image adds an interesting wrinkle, however, with the apparent inclusion of Bucky Barnes, the sidekick-cum-Captain America, rather than the recently returned original Cap, Steve Rogers. When the menace of Ultron returns to vanquish Earth's Mightiest Heroes, who will stand and fight back. Release date: Not intended as a solo film, but character will appear in The Avengers universe in summer 2011 Origin:Lee introduced the character in 1963 in the war magazine Sgt. But Captain America more likely will take on his most famous adversary, the Red Skull a Nazi introduced by Simon in Captain America Comics #1.

Simon now suggests that Osama bin Laden might be an appropriate foe for Captain America to pursue. Simon and comic-book artist Jack Kirby, who died in 1994, created the character during World War II as an all-American adversary to Adolf Hitler. Ant-Man creator Stan Lee recently had lunch with Wright to discuss the direction of the film. They have been salivating ever since Marvel Studios announced plans to develop a team of superheroes to appear first in solo films, then unite as an on-screen team. Frankly, my theory is that Marvel is consolidating all of these comics into a once-a-month, 100+ character, 128-page anthology: The Darkly Newer Avengers Who Have The Mightiest Initiative. Either A.) Marvel has decided that New Avengers is a wholly inappropriate name for a comic that debuted 5 years ago; or B.) Marvel is rejiggering their Avengers line in the wake of the Norman Osborn-deposing miniseries Siege.

After all, in the final version, the Project will contain every book related with the Avengers as a team, and every book prominent for the individual Avengers. Moreover, the Project included several books where individual Avengers are together and, in some cases, books with individual Avengers appearances or non-Avengers appearances since they are important to a key-continuity. In the Project are included all Avengers appearances as team and any correlate issue prominent for their continuity. The Avengers Chronology Project is an attempt to list every Avengers cronological appearance in issues and tales from the the origins to the current year. DC Entertainment recently announced a similar venture for the DCU to begin in April 2010 entitled "Brightest Day." The parallel tonal shifts come on the wave of a successful United States presidential campaign that preached a message of hope.
