Fight Comics

Fiction House comics CGC graded Fiction House was a Golden Age publisher of lurid adventure titles such as that of the jungle queen Sheena. But the jungle she operated in was mostly African. Her other constant companion was Abdola, sometimes referred to as a Hindu and sometimes as a Sikh, which reinforces impressions of India. Her original name, Princess Vishnu, ties her to India, as does the tiger theme itself not to mention her constant companion, a real tiger named Benzali.

Like Wambi the Jungle Boy, another Fiction House jungle guy, Tiger Girl mixed African and Indian jungle motifs. Other artists who worked on her over the years include Matt Baker and Jack Kamen. The writer who co-created Tiger Girl is unknown, but the artist was Robert Webb, a prolific contributor to Fiction House, who also worked for Fox Feature Syndicate. It was undoubtedly Sheena who inspired Fiction House's Tiger Girl, and not Republic Pictures' 12-part serial, The Tiger Woman. Fiction House Magazines, where Kaanga,Camilla,Fantomah and many more thrived, was one of their leading purveyors. Superheroes weren't the only genre that proliferated in American comic books during the 1940s.

However, as with many other Fiction House comics, a number of the series developed by Planet Comics upped the ante by providing female heroines who handily defeated the space aliens and interplanetary bad guys, while needing no or little assistance from males. As a comic book, Planet Comics was the foremost purveyor of good girl art in the comics, and is considered highly collectible by modern fans of comics' Golden Age. Like many of Fiction House's early comics titles, Planet Comics was a spinoff of a pulp magazine, in this case Planet Stories, which featured space operatic tales of muscular, heroic space adventurers who were quick with their 'ray pistols' and always running into gorgeous females who needed rescue from bug-eyed space aliens or fiendish interstellar bad guys. Planet Comics was a science fictioncomic-book title produced by Fiction House and issued from Jan.

This catalog has over a half million dollars in new books with many high-grade Silver Age DC and Marvel, Golden Age DC, Timely, horror, Fiction House and hundreds of others. I look for these trends to continue though the year. Also doing well are horror, Fiction House and good girl. Sales at the shows have been very good and internet sales are increasing monthly.

Now healthy, he's growing at a frightening rate and trying to chew everything in sight, which includes us, as he doesn't seem to understand that our fingers and toes are actually an extension of our bodies. A miserable gut-wrenching experience to be sure, but not enough to deter us from eventually rescuing another dog. Thanks for reading and back soon.

Think we swore that wouldn't happen, but for a while, it was hard to think about the book without feeling a little hammered about the publishing situation. Again, it's in play, so who knows what'll happen, but we're incredibly excited about it and it would make a fantastic semi-regular addition to this company that shall remain nameless. Now, the point-of-view is shifted in the opposite direction, with a new and more interesting series lead, while still maintaining my original goals for the book.
