Wonder Woman

Following this exposure in what was the second largest selling comic in DC's line, Wonder Woman appeared in her own berth in Sensation Comics #1 , and six months later in her own self-titled book. Women's strong qualities have become despised because of their weakness. During his life time, Marston championed the causes of women. Because of his discovery, Marston was convinced that women were more honest and reliable than men and could work faster and more accurately. Max Gaines, then head of DC Comics, was intrigued by the concept and told Marston that he could create a female comic book hero - a "Wonder Woman." Marston did that, using a pen name that combined his own middle name with the middle name of Gaines: Charles Moulton Marston was the creator of the systolic blood-pressure test, which lead to the creation of the polygraph. Seeing all these male heroes, Marston was left wondering why there was not a female hero. Marston saw that the DC line, seeing it filled with images of super men such as Green Lantern, Batman, and their flagship character, Superman. William Moulton Marston was an educational consultant in 1940 for Detective Comics, Inc.
DC continues to break new ground and pave the way for future comic book lovers. They even launched their own mature comic book line, called Vertigo. Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, and Sandman were all geared toward an older crowd and paved the way for many of the dark and gritty superheroes we have today such as Spawn, Punisher, Hellboy, and many others. Later, during the eighties, DC had another milestone with the release of many mature and adult themed comics. Marvel comics saw the popularity of this trend and that helped them to start their own superteam, the Fantastic Four.
It was during this time that the Justice Society was born, the first superhero team and the Justice League soon followed. They diversified and still created comic books. The slump of superhero comics in the forties and fifties didnt slow DC down. The banner for most of the comics published by these companies however was Superman-DC.
DC started out as National Allied Publications and went through various owners as they sold and started new companies such as Detective Comics, All-American Publications, National Comics, and National Periodical Publications. The company now known as DC is really just the evolution of many companies being bought and sold, renamed and revitalized. DC Comics has continued to pave the way with their iconic characters and remarkable talent of their writers and artists. They introduced the first superhero, were the first of the pulp magazine publishers to produce original material, started the Silver Age of comics, and were the first publisher to put their popular heroes together into a team, a move that many other publishers followed suit.
Although Robin's origin is rebooted in this imprint, this will not necessarily be the case for other All Star titles. Another is that All Star does not seek to introduce brand new versions of the characters so much as to present them in unhindered continuity. While the Ultimate titles have closely interrelated storylines, of the two All Star series so far released, there has been no effort to make them conform to each other or indicate they exist in the same continuity. There are several differences between the two imprints, though. The project has been compared to the Ultimate line of Marvel Comics, which was a successful attempt to re-introduce Marvel's most popular characters to younger readers by presenting new, updated versions unburdened by decades of plotlines.
The creative teams are not beholden to any previous and present continuities, and will tell stories that feature "the most iconic versions of these characters".
